Branko Krmpotic

Branko Krmpotic joined Investcorp in January 2023 and serves as a Managing Director on the Investcorp Private Credit team, part of Investcorp Credit Management. Mr. Krmpotic has over 40 years of experience in leveraged finance including, distressed investing, high yield bonds, and mezzanine private credit. Prior to Investcorp, Mr. Krmpotic was a Managing Director of Alcentra NY LLC, the investment advisor and subsidiary of BNY Mellon, and Executive Vice President of Alcentra Capital Corporation, an externally managed public Business Development Corporation (NASDAQ: ABDC). Branko was responsible for originating and structuring transactions, overseeing new deal due diligence, negotiating legal documentation, and managing portfolio investments. He also served as a member on numerous Boards of Directors for Alcentra portfolio companies, overseeing restructurings and providing managerial assistance pursuant to the 1940 Act requirements. Prior to Alcentra, Branko was a Senior Analyst at Raven Asset Management, a credit hedge fund focused on a wide variety of credit investments. Prior to Raven, he structured private transactions at GSO Capital Partners (now owned by Blackstone) and before that at Technology Investment Capital Corp. (NASDAQ:TICC, now Oxford Square). Branko was a founding member at the Bank of New York in the formation of the Mezzanine Group, the predecessor of Alcentra’s U.S. Direct Lending group. Branko received his M.B.A. from Baruch College – CUNY, where he received the Vincent De Lorenzo award for highest scholastic excellence. He received his undergraduate degree from New York University and the equivalent at the University of Belgrade, Serbia.

Tim Waller

Tim Waller joined Investcorp in January 2023 as a Director on the Investcorp Private Credit team and a voting member on the Investment Committee. He brings over eleven years of experience in leveraged finance and over eight years of experience investing in private credit. Prior to that, Tim spent over four years as a Vice President at Alcentra Group on the U.S. Private Credit team, where he was responsible for originating and underwriting lower-middle-market and middle-market loans across various funds, including Alcentra Capital Corporation, a publicly listed business development company. Mr. Waller joined Alcentra Group from LStar Capital, the credit arm of Lone Star Funds, where he evaluated investment opportunities across the capital structure with a focus on unitranche and second lien loans. Tim joined LStar Capital in 2015 an as Associate and was responsible for fundamental credit analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management across a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of assets. Prior to that, Mr. Waller was a Senior Analyst at Raymond James in the Recapitalization and Restructuring Group, where he advised on debt originations as well as stressed and distressed refinancing and sale transactions. Tim received a B.S. from Georgetown University in 2012.

Andrew Muns

Andrew Muns serves as a Director of CM Investment Partners LLC.  Mr. Muns has over 17 years of leveraged finance experience. Mr. Muns was a joint employee of CM Investment Partners and Stifel from 2014-2019.  Mr. Muns was a co-founder of the Credit Investments Group, and served as its Head of Credit.  He joined Stifel in 2012 from Cantor Fitzgerald, where he helped to develop the credit research platform at Cantor Fitzgerald as a Managing Director with the Special Situations and Leverage Loans Desk. At Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Muns served as a market facing senior credit analyst as well as overseeing the rollout of a new research distribution and publication model that significantly expanded the reach of the loan group. Mr. Muns worked closely with Messrs. Alpern and Dibble to build the various components of the leveraged loan Cantor Fitzgerald business. Before working at Cantor Fitzgerald, Muns worked as a Senior Investment Analyst with Icahn Associates, the manager of Carl Icahn’s activist hedge fund. Mr. Muns was later a Managing Director with Sabretooth Capital, a global multi-strategy hedge fund. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Muns was a distressed desk analyst with Bank of America where he advised the firm’s proprietary secondary trading and interfaced with institutional investors through his coverage of distressed credits across multiple industry verticals. Messrs. Muns and Dibble worked together at Bank of America to expand the group’s presence in the middle-market and distressed loan market. Prior to earning his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, he worked as a math education volunteer for the Peace Corps in the Central African Republic and as a consultant with PDVSA in Venezuela. Mr. Muns received a B.A. from Northwestern University.

John Dibble

John Dibble serves as a Director of CM Investment Partners LLC.  Mr. Dibble has over 15 years of experience in leveraged finance and in particular, loan and distressed sales and trading. Mr. Dibble was a joint employee of CM Investment Partners and Stifel from 2014-2019. At Stifel, Mr. Dibble was a co-founder of the Credit Investments Group alongside Messrs. Alpern and Muns, where he performed a number of functions including origination and capital markets roles. He also traded loans on behalf of Stifel Bank & Trust. Mr. Dibble joined Stifel in 2012 from Cantor Fitzgerald, where he helped build the loan and distressed sales and trading platform. He was responsible for trading Cantor Fitzgerald’s agented names as well as sourcing middle market trade ideas and product. Mr. Dibble worked closely with Messrs. Alpern and Muns to build the various components of the Cantor Fitzgerald leveraged loan business. Prior to Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Dibble spent four years on the distressed sales and trading desk at Bank of America. At Bank of America he was responsible for the operational aspects of over $3bn of positions for the distressed trading desk including loans, bonds, trade claims, post-reorg equity, public equity, equity options and aircraft. Messrs. Dibble and Muns worked together at Bank of America to expand the group’s presence in the middle-market and distressed loan market. Previously, he worked as an Associate at Deutsche Bank in their Private Wealth Management group where he helped structure and underwrite collateralized loans as well as monitor bank’s existing loan portfolio. Mr. Dibble received a B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.

Zach Alpern

Zach Alpern serves as a Director of CM Investment Partners LLC.  Mr. Alpern has over 13 years of experience in leveraged finance. Mr. Alpern was a joint employee of CM Investment Partners and Stifel from 2014-2019. At Stifel, Mr. Alpern was a co-founder of the Credit Investments Group with Messrs. Dibble and Muns, performing origination and credit functions with a focus on the middle market. He also advised the Chapter 11 Trustee in the Acis LP/GP Bankruptcy case alongside Miller Buckfire in 2018. Mr. Alpern joined Stifel in 2012 from Cantor Fitzgerald, where he was a trader focused on par and distressed loans, as well as post-reorganization private equities. Mr. Alpern worked closely with Messrs. Dibble and Muns to build the various components of the Cantor Fitzgerald leveraged loan business. Prior to Cantor Fitzgerald, Mr. Alpern spent four years as part of the Leveraged Finance Group at Blackrock, where he was responsible for fundamental credit analysis, trading bank loans, as well as managing amendment, workout, and restructuring processes for Blackrock’s loan positions across all of its investment mandates. He was also responsible for day-to-day management of six active and three run-off CLOs, and assisted with the management of closed and open-end mutual funds and separate accounts, as well as BCI, an $8bn levered credit dislocation fund. Mr. Alpern also helped develop a variety of bank loan-specific analytical tools to track relevant deal information, reporting, risk, and trade compliance across Blackrock’s loan mandates. Mr. Alpern received a B.A. from Georgetown University.

Emily Mason

Emily Mason joined Investcorp in 2019. Prior to joining Investcorp’s Private Credit group, Emily was an Analyst at Stifel Financial Corp. in the Alternative Investments group, where she conducted investment due diligence on private equity and hedge funds managers for Stifel’s Private Wealth Management platform servicing institutional and high net worth clients. Prior to Stifel, she was a Summer Analyst at Deutsche Bank in their Asset Management division. Emily has a B.S. in Finance and Economics from Bentley University.

Seth D. Thomas

Seth D. Thomas joined Investcorp January 2023 as an Associate in the Private Credit Group. Prior to Investcorp, Seth was an Analyst at Alcentra Group in the U.S. Private Credit Group, where he focused on underwriting middle-market and lower-middle-market debt transactions. Seth joined Alcentra Group from KRyS Global USA, where he was tasked with identifying, tracking, and recovering value on behalf of bankruptcy estates. Seth has a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

 

 

Michael C. Mauer

Michael Mauer formerly worked for Icahn Capital where he was a Senior Managing Director and a member of the investment team. In addition, he was in charge of the firm’s Marketing and Investor Relations. Prior to that, Mr. Mauer spent over eight years at Citigroup, where he was a Managing Director.  During that time he led several businesses including roles as the Global Co-Head of Leverage Finance and Global Co-Head of Fixed Income Currency and Commodity Distribution. From 1988 to 2001, Mr. Mauer held several positions at JPMorgan including Head of North American Investment Grade and Leverage Loan Syndicate, Sales and Trading businesses.  Mr. Mauer began his career in 1982 at Price Waterhouse & Co. where he was a Senior Accountant and a C.P.A.  Mr. Mauer received a B.S. from the University of Scranton and an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
